The Inspiring People project has transformed the National Portrait Gallery. Designed by Jamie Fobert Architects and made possible by major grants from the Blavatnik Family Foundation, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Garfield Weston Foundation, and the Ross Foundation. The project comprised a complete re-presentation of the Collection, combined with a significant refurbishment of the building, the creation of public spaces, a more welcoming visitor entrance and public forecourt, and a new Learning Centre.
The National Portrait Gallery has a variety of newly-refurbished and versatile spaces that can be transformed to accommodate a range of events from a grand reception to an intimate dinner, an early morning breakfast to a corporate conference. This inspirational setting will ensure any bespoke event is one to remember.
Lisa Hatswell, Managing Director, Unique Venues of London - “We are delighted to welcome back the National Portrait Gallery to our collection of venues. The gallery is the home to the world’s greatest collection of portraits and its spectacular spaces offer a wide range of contemporary and classical options to hold remarkable events. For 30 years UVL have been helping event organisers to experience exceptional spaces in iconic, heritage and contemporary locations for all types of events and filming. Each venue has its own unique character, but all share a passion for excellence in events and hospitality.”
Commenting on their new membership, the National Portrait Gallery - “We are absolutely delighted to once again become members of UVL following our Inspiring People project and the reopening of the Gallery this summer. UVL offers such a unique and valuable opportunity to learn and share with other colleagues in the event industry and we are very much looking forward to meeting everyone in the coming months.”
